Air pollution affects everyone, particularly the following groups especially when they exercise outdoors.       

   

 

How air pollution affects our body?

 

  • We breathe in an average of 6-10L of air per minute.
 
  • The sum of area of our alveoli is approximated to a tennis court.
  
  • Our lungs are the interface between our body and the environment
 
  • The air we breathe increases tenfold when we exercise.
  
  • Air pollutants increases our risk of getting sick.
      

 

The HK SAR Government always organizes environment and health related activities, like "Healthy Living". Our Association also supports Government's direction by organizing regular exhibitions with the aim of enhancing public awareness about environmental factors related to respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses.
