Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD)

1. Causes:

Congenital Heart Disease

Myocardial Infarction

2. Signs:

depends on the cause and size of the defect

 

Heart murmur	Heart Failure	Endocarditis

3. Symptoms:

Shortness of breath	Ankle swelling	Fatigue	Irregular heart beat

4. Management:

Small VSD may close spontaneously in the first several years of life

Large VSD requires surgical repairement
